I've recently noticed a slight difference in the trucks performance. I opened it up on a nice isolalated country road and it would only get to 105 mph; Before it has easily pegged the speedometer. I'm going to change the fuel filter, tighten all boost coupling clamps and check the fuel pressure. My question is about the timing, is it possible for the timing to slip and has anyone had a problem with this? I have ordered a manual but it has not come in yet. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Most likely it is the lift pump. Check that pressure soon. Bad lift pumps can cause thr injection pump to go bad.

Put gauges in and check it often.

Winter fuel will cut your power by 10-25%. Timing on a 24 V does not slip. Boost and EGT gauges would help, and a fuel pressure gague is mandatory.

Do an APPS calibration. This does make a difference. I recal about once a month. But I also average almost 10,000 miles per month also.

Diconnect Neg battery term for 30 minutes.

Reconnect

Turn key to "on" posistion.

Slowly press accellerator slowly to the floor

Raise slowly

Turn key to "off"

Your done.

Thanks all. I checked the lift pump pre and post filter; the gauge spiked to 10 psi when switched on but only showed a few pounds when idling. The gauge I had available was 0-100 psi range, I'm going to get a narrower range for better resolution and check it again, but i'm pretty sure the pump is dead or dying. I'm going to call the dealership Monday and see if it will be covered.
