OK, I know you've been over this a million times but I need input.
"POWER LOSS"
History: Purchased 3\00 w\72K.
Ran great, when rpms hit 1500 you could feel the turbo spool up & the truck "leap" forward.
In aug. the muffler started rattling so instead of replacing it I removed it & added a straight pipe behind the cat. Three days later I changed the oil & filters. (oil & fuel (Fleet Guard)). Soon after I lost my power from 1500-2500 rpm, when the tack hits 1500 there's no surge, just a steady, slow acceleration. I've cleanned the pre screen filter & checked for inter cooler leaks & changed the fuel filter again, to no avail. The truck runs great off the line and after 2500 rpm. No missing, no smoke. Pulls a load as long as I keep the rpms up. But, if I'm on an incline and let the rpms drop to 2200 I'll never get it back.
Now, I know I need more diognostics and my boost, fuel pressure and pyro guages are in route, to be installed ASAP. But in the mean time I thought I'd ask the people that have been through this.
