Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Power Problem

I have a 1998 1/2 24 valve in a motorhome. There is a noticable loss of power under a load. I changed all filters and checked turbo waste gate for operation (all good). I checked fuel pressure at filter housing: 15 psi at idle and down to 11 psi under load. I checked boost pressure at turbo: 1 psi at idle and at least 30 psi under load. No check engine light. I don't know if I have any stored codes.



Any ideas?

The exhaust is clear - no white smoke, black or white.

The engine seems OK. I'd be looking for brakes hanging up, or a transmission issue,possible torque converter problem.

You might want to try replacing the intake manifold's air temperature sensor and the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. They're relatively inexpensive and do occasionally fail. If they send erroneous information to the ECM, the injection timing could be off (not enough injection advance).
