I think I have the lone Power Puck on TDR.

My first one had problems, but the new one and all the new one way non-interupter units are working fine. They now come with a built in boost module.

I am running the Puck and DD3's as my only fueling modifications on my ETH. I have towed with it and it works very well... . Last time on the dyno (Diesel Thunder) I cranked out 370. 3 HP.

The Puck, EZ, and VA units do the same thing... it comes down to one thing IMO when choosing between them... . price!

Of those three I would pick injectors. 3's are great and I don't have the slightest probs with EGT's. :) I have the Comp also but it is never on because the truck has more than enough power with the injectors alone.

I would pick large injectors having been there and done that. Of the EZ and the VA I much prefer the VA. If you want low end the VA is where it is at, the EZ sucks on the bottom compared to the VA.

If I had a 5 speed and was going to do one mod it would be DD3's.

thanks guys, right now I only have enough money for gauges and 1 engine mod so I am trying to decide between a box or injectors. the box seems to be the easist upgrade, and excuse my ignorance but is VA the company that makes the power puck, or does that stand for something else.

What elevation are you at normally?

Also, what about smoke at higher elevations with the DD3's?

True Torque Power Module (TTPM(

Hi racingfansscjww:

Have the above mentioned box and it works very well. Diesel Dynamics in Las Vegas says it adds 50 hp and 100 foot pounds of torque and that's what it feels like when I have it turned on. I can't remember for sure but someone on the TDR said the TTPM had a slightly modified EZ program which has a little less timing and is therefor a little milder. Takes less than 5 minutes to install if you don't do the turbo elbow modification. Also fabricated a different spring and bracket/clip for the turbo mod which can be easily removed when not needed. Had a terrible time trying to install the turnbuckle and spring thing shown here on the TDR with my big hands.

Have seen about a 50 degree decrease in Exhaust Gas Temperatures (EGT) running in the timing only mode. Tried towing with it ONCE and WHAT a difference. Cooler EGT's and much more power. Now I always run my box on the timing only position since my automatic transmission won't hold the extra power in overdrive. You of course won't have that problem. Don't get me started on Dodge transmissions

DON'T FORGET TO MENTION your TDR membership so you get your discount. With your TDR discount the box is close to the same price as the EZ.

Most any combo except possibly some extreme ones will work well. I towed with BD II's and an EZ and it was a good combo. Went to a larger injector and a powermax 3 and its great too.

How about another opinion. Try TST'd 10 level power max. You have 10 different power levels each one adding appx 13 hp over stock. Very easy to "tune" your power/egt to your towing. I installed 275 injectors first. I noticed more power and egt's never over 1300. Then Pmax 10 then hx40 and 4" exhaust. Tows freaking amazing up to power level 3 over that I have to keep a close eye on egt's.
