Power Seat Frames

Does anyone know if there is a way to make the factory buckets into a six way power seat? I want to stick with the fisrt gen buckets, however, I would like to power them (them as in driver and passenger)!



Is there any aftermarket kits that would work? Is there any vehicles that would work in a junk yard that would be similar seat design?

I have considered taking the 1stGen buckets and putting them on a 2ndGen seat bracket. Shouldnt be too hard to get some holes to line up. Find a power seat assembly, and go to town.



The 93 in my signature has a bench seat which isnt uncomfortable, but with me being 6'2" and my girlfriend being 5'5", it will put my knees in the dash when she drives. She doesnt like the console in the middle with the captain's chairs, so I thought a 2ndGen 40-20-40 seat would be nice, only swap out the driver and passenger seats for some comfortable ones.

I've got 1st Gen Caravan (91-95) seats in mine. There is some cutting and welding needed to make the base fit the inner side of the cab, outer side about lines up. I also have the 5'3" wife and I'm 6'2" so we have had power seats in all of our vehicles for 25 years. The passenger seat in the truck is non power, but no problem as it stays all the way back all of the time. Has a handy drawer under it, the open space between the seats adds considerably to storage room in the cab and allows easy access to behind seat areas as well.

Room is still snug on the driver side and a tilt wheel would help, but it's adequate as is. Much better than with the bench.

I will look into the 2nd gen seat frames. I had looked at ones off of a late 90's Concord/LHS but they would not work due to the back lean design.



If I go 2nd gen, as of what year did they get passenger side power seats as well?

know i know its just a bit different but very similar ..... but i have got 1998 ram seats in my 1979 trailduster the trailduster's floor is almost identical to the 1st gen rams floor with just a few differences
