My power seat in my '04 is on the fritz. The fore-aft works, and the back of the seat vertical is working. The front vertical motor won't raise or lower the seat. And it's stuck half the way up. That doesn't leave me enough headroom.

Anyways, the motor can be heard running, but it doesn't actually move the seat. The only thing I've seen when I searched are posts in the 2nd gen forums. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone found a good solution. I can't seem to find any used ones. And Dodge wants $475! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! That is such BS#@$%! You can't just get the bad motor replaced, but have to replace all of them.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them. BTW, I'm 1300 miles away from home and am not looking forward to the long trip with the seat the way it is.

Thanks ;)

Is it binding?

Mine was replaced just prior to the warranty expiring due to intermittently binding. Seach at car-parts.com.

Bought an entire drivers seat. Now I have spare parts if it's possible to swap parts, but they made it very hard to do it a piece at a time:mad:.

Don't know, but I'm interested. My front elevation motor just makes noise, no movement. I saw a seat frame/motor module for a pass car, same deal all or nothing.

My driver's seat rear movements are a no go. I've checked the seat switch continuity for all functions & checks good. All other switch functions - forward/aft, front up/down - work OK. When I actuate the rear switch in either direction, I hear a faint "click" from the motor area. I highly suspect the rear motor assembly has a open circuit and the power is going to the limit switch area. Is there any way to check the limit switches or are they built into the motor assembly as a thermal circuit breaker to stop the motor when it gets to its travel limits?

Genos has motors and gears. A couple of my functions are out too.
I used an upholstery shop and the owner spoke of a customer who sourced out the nylon gears with metal. The gears appear to be the culprit many times.
Ram needs to spec some out to the same company Honda uses. Our Pilot's 12 years old now and the seat still works perfect. My wife's shorter than I so the seats been adjusted hundreds of times.
