My 02 has the 6 way power seat and it has quit working except for the forward and back way. I can hear the motor kind of making a clunk sound like it is trying to raise but nothing happens. I have used it with it clear down for so long without using the up or down that it acts like it is frozen in place. any suggestions on how to fix.

I have an 06 mega cab up and down on the 6 ways quit working twice within 1 year. Both times the dealer replaced the whole seat assembly with no explanation of why it quit

the whole seat assembly

Unfortunately that's the only way you can fix it if the problem is not related to the switch = Dodge only sells the whole frame assy 3 motors, etc. = can't just purchase the motors. Last I checked it was like $400. 00:eek:

I unplugged the motor that failed on mine, rear up/down, set it where I wanted it by turning the screw rod with a pair of mini vise grips and forgot about it. I figure I could spend $400 better elsewhere.

If you're luck you may be able to find what you need in a salvage yard.

Oh, before I even called to see if I could buy a motor I took the seat bottom off (4 bolts as I recall) pulled the motor that wasn't working connected to a 12v source and it "tried" to move. I took it apart, cleaned & lubed everything, connected to a 12v power source and it actually worked! I reinstalled everything and it worked twice then stopped again.

My 01 did this a couple of years ago and I took the swithches apart and blew the dirt and grime out of the switch and the seat started working again. The seat has started acting funny again. I just have not taken the time to tear it down again to clean.
