I just got back from the dealer. In order to replace the electric motor that operates/lifts the rear of the seat bottom they said I had to replace the ENTIRE assembly. The seat has 1 for the front, 1 for the rear and a 3rd to move fore and aft. Anyone heard of the motors being sold seperately or maybe would have one to sell?? Dodge trucks are hard to find up here so the wrecking yards haven't been very helpful..... unless I would like to buy a whole seat assembly.

I've seen the frame/assembly with switch and 3 motors on ebay before. I think it went for about $150? Check there first...

Thanks Mr D. I just did that at your suggestion. No dice. I'm still looking.

Thanks and keep your eyes/ears open.

Can anyone else help?

Seat motor Fix

I experenced the same problem as 2 of the 3 motors quit on my 99. Refusing to pay the dealer 450-900. 00 for a new seat base I disassembled the motors. .

I found that there is a copper thermal device iside of the motor that is attached to the incoming power lead. After testing I discovered that this device had electractly open circuit. I replaced it with a short piece of stranded # 12 electrical wire. I then cleaned the motor and lubricated it and reinstalled it to the seat base. I also installed a 3 amp 12 v circuit breaker on the power lead to each motor... This has been in operation for 32,000 miles with several different drivers over the last 3 months... .

Good Luck
