I've been using power service dsl fuel additive in gallon white container #1040 and its always been a reddish color inside container. Today I purchased 1/2 gallon container #1030 of power service(White)Plastic bottle and its perfectactly clear and smells different, do they make 2 different kinds, both had the sealed tinfoil under the cap. I am actually thinking of scraping the clear colored one! Probably something I don't know, any comments?

I have been purchasing Powerservice since mile 1 and its always been a amber color.

I just purchased a 96oz jug within the week.

I must say that I will be switching to Howes since it comes highly recommended by Mike R. #ad

My power service is amber, too. I buy it in the 3 qt jugs from Wal-Mart.
I talked with my brother on additives. He's a heavy equipment operator and diesel mechanic. They use Power Service only as a periodic cleaner. Penray is the best anti-gel he's found.

I'm lookin for Penray in the Seattle area. I'll be making the Seattle to Minnesota travel over Christmas and want some piece of mind.

Cheers;

Been useing power service since day one now at 22,000 miles and two winters. I have used it down to 30 below zero in straight #2 with no problems, just drain off some out of your filter once in the while to make sure there is no water and everything should be o. k. The color has always been amber but i did notice they changed the packageing don't know if they changed the formula, have not needed to buy a new supply yet.

I've been using Power Service too. They say they guarantee no gelling.

I was always using Power Service, both the anti gel and power cleaner. I like the way it runs and sounds using the power cleaner.

Then one day this fall they were calling for the first cold night (and my fuel supplier was not selling winter fuel yet) so I stopped and bought what I could find.

Howle's anti gel. I am sold, this stuff works like the power service anti gel (makes it quieter and more power) plus it has the anti gel. Here in PA, thats about the only thing the truck stops carry so it must either be a good deal for the guy selling it or it must really work.

While topping off at a Truckstop Fri. . I read a brochure about powerservice additives they have 6 or 7 slightly different products and all the bottles look similar... This might be some of the confusion #ad

Dawg: The Power Service folks are only 25 miles from me in Weatherfrord, Texas. Nicest folks you will ever deal with. Call their 800 # tommorrow and check with their customer service guy. I bet he can solve your problem!

Guys, I put some Howes in last night for the first time, and the cummins does run quieter now. Seeing is believing. I liked it will recheck fuel milage using Howes and see if any improvement. Each of my highway runs average about 19. 5 mpg now.

Dawg, I went out to the shop and poured some out of a new unopened bottle. (white bottle)
Looked about the color of sctoch whiskey, and about the same consistancy.
The bottle said "no harmful alcohols" so that explains why I dont hear bagpipes when I put it up to my ear. #ad

I've been using this brand in "white bottle", silver bottle(diesel kleen), Howes and Redline. My fuel never froze, so I suppose theyre working. I never saw the MPG jump they claim though. #ad
I generally use them for the fuel injector cleaners, as my fuel dont have any.
FYI last year I pulled a sample of the fuel I was using and put it in a 1qt. jar. It got down to about 0 a few mornings, and it NEVER FROZE!! Didnt even get cloudy. This was before I conditioned it!!
