Power steering and brakes

Can someone briefly explain the connection between the power steering pump and the brakes on these trucks? Are the brakes powered by the PS pump? Is there no vacuum assist like in normal vehicles?

There is no vacuum assist on the brakes, they are powered by the power steering pump.
