On a Recent trip to Las Vegas Nevada over Memorial Day Weekend, I was stopped in Baker Ca, Outside temp was 104F on the worlds largest thermometer.
While going up the Baker Grade, There were around 25-30 Cars and Light trucks (no dodge Products) Pulled off to side of the road with their hoods up and steam Bellowing out.
I pulled the Baker Grade at 85-90mph with no problem as usual with the motor temp at 190f.

Upon arriving in North Las Vegas at the Inlaws Place, I noticed a small Puddle under the truck. It turned out to be Power Steering Fluid. No Leaks anywhere. It Looked like it came out from under the Power Steering Reservior Cap?.

So whats the Deal?. I have never Had this happen before. I have been thru the same route to Vegas Many times in Hotter weather without this Happining.
Any thoughts?
Thanks Doug.

I had this happen to my truck when it was new. I re-filled w/ps fluid and all is well three years later. Never worried about the 'why' as it hasn't happened again. It was warm out but not 95+. I'd top it off and watch and ride.

Mine would do the same thing, but only when parked cold for more than two days. It would run out from under the cap, and then go across the track bar to the other side. The problem went away after 17000 miles. I figured the cap seal was dry and just needed to soak in some fluid and seal.
