power steering cap

Started smelling a diesel smell today, thought it was from filling up. But what it turns out to be is the power steering cap missing. Talked to a friend of mine and his truck did the same thing. Fills like the groves on the tank that hold the cap on tight has worn out. Not sure if its from vib's or just a bad design. I guess they have changed the tanks in the last few years from the black to the white plastic.
