Guys, the other day i went out to start my truck and was -5 degrees out. I went to pull into the shop and found my truck really hard to steer. I figured it was because it was really cold and haven't gave it time to warm up. Once pulled into the shop i found a puddle of power steer fluid. I popped the hood and found fluid pouring out of the reservoir. I let truck warm up and checked power steer fluid. It was a little low so i added new. It seemed to cure the moaning noise when turning. I have 65,000 miles and thought having 7yrs/70,000 miles warrenty i figured it would be covered. Took it to the dealer to see what it might be and they say its the ps pump is gone out and not covered under warrenty?? What do you guys think, what should i do??? Dealer wants almost $700 to fix???Thanks Cole.

I looked at my 7/75 service contract & under Steering it states the following:Steering Gear Housing And all Internal Parts; Power Steering Gear; Power Steering Pump; Steering Shaft Lower Coupling; Rack and Pinion Assembly; Seal and Gaskets for listed components only. If you have a copy of your contract show them or call DC.

Power Steering Pump

Regular warranty is 3 years/36000 miles. 7 years/70000 miles is power train. If you have an extended service contract, your power steering pump is probably covered. I just used my service contract to pay for a power steering pump. Like you said. About $700
