Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Power Steering Fluid

This may sound like a real dumb question but can you use standard power steering fluid or do our trucks require some type of heavy duty fluid. Mine started leaking of the pressure line and is now way low but I don't want to add the wrong type. I know the break booster is powered by the PS pump so that is why I'm asking this question.

Factory fill is transmission fluid, the new stuff is ATF4. Back when I had a problem and ran low I went to Pep Boys and bought Synthetic and added it without any problems. I have since switched to Royal Purple Syntetic Power Steering Fluid with no issues.
