Archived power steering fluid ?

does any body know what type power steering fluid goes in it i have a 2002 had same problem back 4 years ago steering wheel locked mechanic said to put atf-4 fluid oem manual says dont ?

03 calls for ATF+4, but don't know about 02.

As you noted, the owner's manual says not to use ATF-4 transmission fluid in the power steering. If you go to any auto parts store and check the shelf with the power steering fluids, you will easily find several brands which claim to meet or exceed Chrysler's (and other manufacturer's) OEM specifications. You'll also have a choice between regular, synthetic, or a blend of the two.

I've always used Valvoline Synpower in my 01. And, my owners manual also says NOT to use atf +4.
