Found my power steering leak on my 97 it was the hose from hydraulic boost to the gear box. Put new hose on and it steers real hard now, does it need to be bled some how because of air in the system. Thanks guys for some info

Try turning the wheels lock to lock, holding a few seconds each time with the engine at 1k rpms or so. Sometimes a bit of air can be a booger to bleed.

Well I gave it my best shot. I did what you told me and it didn't work. I even jacked up the front end and it still didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any more ideas? I appreciate your help.

No I didn't flush the system. All I did was replace a the hydraulic pressure line. No. I never have flushed the system and I'm not quite sure where the pressure regulator is located. Can you help me out there buddy?

The link I provided gives you all the info you need for the pressure reg. I flush mine by sucking all the fluid out of the reservoir, then refilling it. Start the engine, run the steering from lock to lock a couple times. Shut off the engine, repeat about 6 times. It might be beneficial to clean the screen, flush the system, then clean the screen again.

Hey guys guess it was just the air in the system drove it to work about hundred miles and just working fine. It sure pays to be a member of tdr . Thanks for every bodies help
