My power steering hose has been leaking for a long time and it drips onto the steering gear box. Everthing is wet around the box, I've known about the leak and periodically wipe off the grime to keep things reasonably clean.
Recently I flush the PS fluid a couple times by disconnecting the cooler lines and refilling the system. Upon refilling and turning the wheel back and forth with the engine off and no cap on the Reservoir I made a mess and had fluid all over the place. After cleaning things up I've been keeping a close eye on the leak thinking it could be the O-ring on the Reservoir. Everything looks dry except the hose coming off the pump where it changes from the hard tubing to rubber. The thing that throws me is the fluid isn't red in color like ATF it looks more like motor oil but I can't see where it's coming from. Has anybody else seen this problem?
