Has anyone ever considered whether it would be possible to implement a power steering pressure gauge?

Seems like you'd need a custom power steering hose with a tee fitting in it somewhere. Or are the threaded ends of the hoses standard (pipe or AN), so that you could make your own tee-fitting with off-the-shelf fittings?

It is part of the D/C special tools... ... ... ... ... ... ... Something similiar will be available through Snap on etc.

why the need for one really? it will only register large pressures when at lock when the flow stops [pressure = resistance to flow]

When I tried to locate fittings, I found the Dodge hoses use somewhat special connections (metric, flare, etc. ). Even the major brand "Parker" did not have the correct fitting available. I would consider taking the hose to a local hydraulic repair shop and having a "t" installed at your designated location with a fitting for a pressure gage of your choice.

As for the need of doing so, monitoring pressure and flow of any hydraulic system is a standard diagnostic procedure.
