will it pay to replace power steering pump with out doing the adapter. Very hard to tell where fluid is coming from. My NAPA guy is not much help. 94 3500 298,000. Runs perfect but messy. Help

a quite check is the dip stick in the p/s pump, rubber gasket could have a tear, the small robber rings on the p/s line could be bad. take the lines off and take the o-rings down and match them up with new ones. if napa does not have them check with a heavy eguipment dearler etc. cat, ringhaver,or what ever you have around. good look

i developed bad leak at my pump, noticed that the metal line coming out of the pump was loose, tighten it up, still leaked, took it off only to discover that the oring had desinigrated, replaced the oring, haven't seen a drop since.

my seal on the bottom of the steering box is leaking, ive got a seal kit, i just got to get the time to get under the truck and replace it. good luck with your problem.

There is a universal rebuild kit for the pump that includes all the o-rings. Unfortunately I am about 6000 miles from my truck so can't give you the part #. Should cost about $12

I'd suggest a good cleaning and make SURE it's the PS pump. The vacuum pump is notorious for leaking and it's right there with the PS pump.
