Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Power Steering pump or Vac pump?

Don't know why but previous post didn't take.

Got a leak in power steering pump or vac pump? I am loosing ps fluid and dont know if it is the seals in the vacuum pump or ps pump.

Any advice is appreciated Looked at old posts but could not find the answer i seek.

I was going to tear it apart today, but post didn't get entered so will have to wait till tomorow. I have a cummins seal kit for the vacuum pump but may need to be ready for more parts?

Only the PS can leak PS fluid , the vacume has no PS fluid to leak , Wash off to see where leak is coming from , If you have access to the right tools , the pump has 1 shaft seal behind the pulley & a large Oring sealing between the tank & pump body , then there is the lines , 1 pressure the other return .

Thanks for the reply, I thought it was the ps pump but thought i had read where the seal on the vacuum pump could cause a leak.
I will pull it down tomorow and do seals in both and clean the screen.
I power washed the pumps, but cant tell where it is leaking, but is making a mess everywhere i park the truck.
I read somewhere the brake assist canister (blue can) could cause trouble also, hope it is not that.
Is there a way to tell?

Thanks for the link, that guy is only 25 miles from me! I found the leak this am. The ps is leaking on the hydraulic brake booster a small weep hole on the bottom.
The rest of the leak was from my westach fuel pressure sending unit, B100 has taken it's toll again... ... ... . Guess i will have to look at a mechanical gauge .
