I have been a member of the TDR for 6 years but have never used this site. I own a 2000 Dodge with the 24 valve. I have a small oil leak between the power steering pump and the vacuum pump. Dodge tells me the vacuum has to be replaced account of the oil seal is not replacable. I found Reganis Auto center on the web that claims they have a replacement seal for the vacuum pump. Has anyone replaced this seal ,if so where to get it . Thanks

Go to www.Fixinram.com - I got a kit from them for 60 bucks just a week ago. Havent had time to do the install but they do lots of them with good success. They send a instructional dvd with the kit if you ask for it. Hope this helps

Dittos on what LAMiller recommended. I bought the kit from FIXIN RAMS cause my seal was PUKING oil. Real easy fix!

EDIT: make sure that when you reassemble the pieces to MAKE SURE you put in the key connector thingy (the one with the 'cross' inside it. ) I forgot it and had to make an extractor to pull the pieces apart and start over!

The Dodge dealer here has the kit for 65. 00, the Ford dealer has it for 45. 00 and the Cummins dealer here claims they do not have a seal kit, but can sell you the pump. Thanks for the info

The Diesel Connection

Call The Diesel connection. They are TDR members and real good Cummins guys. Honest as they come. 410-679-2566. Leave them a message and they will call you back. I am sure they have everything you need. I have had PS pump off to install VP and can tell you the job will not be too bad. Lots of DC dealers just don't know enough to help you. Sad but you found the right place in TDR :)

I tried replacing my power steering pump without pulling the vacuum pump off and started a leak. After taking them both off together it was actually easier. I bought the entire seal kit for the vacuum pump. Not a hard job.

I have the same leak on my 2000 also, when i recently had my truck in to replace crank postioning sensor the dodge parts man said there was no seal kit showing up to replace it, but others here have said cummins carries a kit for practically nothing, and also the fixinrams site has the kit and video to go step by step, i just haven't gotten around to fixing it yet... I know i should but right now its not a problem small seapage but will get worse i know, at least i have at my disposal the TDR to help me out.

I also got my kit from fixinrams, let me tell ya. The little tools he sends to set the seals and drive out the shaft were a time saver. As far as seals, ya I could find them from Dodge in New Richmond, WI, problem was the stock seal has only one lip, as the one I recieved with the kit has a double lip, should help keep the dirt out. Plus he sends an extra O-ring in case you screw it up on reassembly. Very easy job to do, but I had no prob spending 60 bucks for the DVD and the home made drivers that he sent out in the kit.

I bought the kit(comes with a DVD) but it doesn't tell you how to start job. It does a great job of telling how to break the pump down and reassemble it, but not to much on the removal from the truck. (maybe I missed the instuctions or my wife misplaced them, lol)

When I had y vacuum pump seal replaced Dodge had a gasket/seal kt but did not include the vacuum pump seal. My mechanic ordered the seal from a seal warehouse.

A TDR member (cckp or is it ckkp) use to keep them in stock.
