Just brought my ’05 back home from the dealer for what started out as a moderate power leak, from the area where the plastic tank that holds the PS fluid sits, and fastens to the cast mechanism the steering shaft goes into. For the last four-five months the fluid has slowly soaked the frame in this area and the power steering box and pitman-arm assy. It has never actually dripped on the ground, until today. The dealer charged me +$200 and identified the problem as a bad PS reservoir, noted the paperwork “PS reservoir replaced, verified no further leaks found” I drove my truck 43 miles home were it now sits in the driveway in a puddle of it’s PS fluid, the dipstick shows ¼ fluid and all of the suspension, driveline, rear axle have a splatter on them. It appears to be leaking from the same spot where the replaced the reservoir. What should I do about this? Or what could possibly be the culprit?
Thanks in advance
