Power Steering Vacuum Pump for a 99?

I noticed oil on my driveway, thought it was blow-by, real bad blow-by! About a 5" circle over night! I went and bought hose and fittings to re-route the blow-by tube to behind the engine/transmission. Went and cleaned it off first to make sure it wasn't coming from some place else. Sure enough it was. There is a tower, (for lack of a better term) that mounts on the back of the Power Steering Vacuum Pump and then the Power Steering Pump mounts to it. The flange that mounts to the PS Vacuum pump has 2 bolt holes, one of the ears of the bolt holes is cracked or broken, thus allowing engine oil to leak.

It appears that the Vacuum pump is a dealer only item. You cannot buy the tower seperate from the Vacuum pump, and (are you setting down?) the dealer wants $1,040. 00 for it.   Said he may be able to get me 10-15% off. Anything is better than nothing but come on!

Anyway, does anyone have one of these for sale?

Kathy said, "Why don't you just go down and buy a new one with a HO Auto to pull the travel trailer and leave it stock!" I told her I could not live with it stock! I'm not sure if she was serious or not.

Who knows, I may have "The White Obsession" or lots of performance and accessories for a 2nd Generation for sale.

Well you missed the last one on E-bay, I think it went for about $260 and was new in the box. You might want to keep your eyes open there and check for one if you don't need one fast. Or, you can also get a rebuilt one from about $460 or so.....

What your shocked? Just like the $7,200 injection pump they wanted to charge a local member. So insted he bought one for cummins and put it in ... . THEIR parking lot. I think you can get them thru nappa I can look up the manufacturer in my cummins part book as I know Dodge NOR Cummins makes it.

O. K Heres what I found

If it's the same as a y2k... vacuum pump from Cummins at fleet price $605 (last fall and they were willing to sell for less to get it out of their inventory... might still be there) and $444 from NAPA Online (they might do better in the store if you're a regular customer.

The Cummins pump is made by WABCO (european supplier). Don't know where NAPA gets theirs, but the picture looks the same.

You can always pull it and try to weld it back together (using tig welding technology), replace the seal in the vacuum pump for $3 and see if you've resolved it.

About a year ago I reported ( here ) that I replaced the vacuum pump seal on mine and broke the flange. I'm happy to report that the weld job has been holding up fine for the past year.
