When I started my truck thisa morning to move it from the cold into the warm garage the power steering worked just fine about 30 minutes later I started it and moved it back outside no power steering

it puked about 1 cup of ps fluid on the floor ? now what ? trying to steer a 02 2500 with no power steering is almost impossible in 0 deg. weather can anyone tell me what happened? how to fix it etc.

Welcome to the TDR.

Mine has done the same thing as far as puke up over filled fluid, but it kept on working.

Have you added any fluid lately, or ever changed it. When its cold the fluid acts a whole lot different then when warm due to being thicker. I would verify I had no leaks and that the level was correct. Then start the motor and physically verify that the pump is turning by looking at it while running. Does it squeal or make strange sounds when you try to steer with it?

If you can turn it lock to lock (full left to full right) and see if there might have been a air bubble in it. Lock to lock should work out any air. You might want to jack up the front end and relieve the stress so its a lot easier to do, then check fluid level again.

this pump was squealing

like always when it is this cold out but when I started in the garage no squeal no power steering or brakes
