2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Power supply for Pacbrake??

Just installed my new Pacbrake and was wondering which wire under the steering column is best for power? The instructions said to T tap the black with orange tracer, That particular wire gave me no power. I would like to use a wire in this location if possible, I'm running out of options for wiring. I need to get a painless wire set up, where do they get there ignition power from ??? I used a gauge feed location for now just to make sure everything is working ok but want a solo source of power. I'm beginning to have a bowl of spaghetti under the dash, not cool. Any input would be great thanks ... ... ... ...
