I've been reading a lot about the fueling the 12v and now I have a few questions.

First of all, I am trying to accomplish more power just to have more power. I don't tow very often or as much weight as many others, just a 1500lb snowmobile trailer and 6500lb Bobcat . A key to my upgrades is to not sacrifice MPG's and if they get better then great.

I am planning on the purchase of the 275hp plate (don't know the number) from TST. I was thinking the 215 injectors, or maybe larger. Are the 215 injectors going to help the performance significantly (with the plate installed)? What about the 300 or 370's? Am I correct in assuming that my MPG's will decrease with a larger injectors (assuming I contiune to accelerate and drive the same way)?

What about the turbo? The 12cm housing seems like it is ok unless I'm having EGT problems, right? And I'm planning on staying with the HX35 simply because of cost, the 40 is rather pricey IMO.

EDIT: I just wanted to thank everyone for their input in advance. Ryan

Things to consider:
What trans. do you have?
Standard: Clutch slipping is a consideration, so be prepared to replace as necessary.
Auto: Be prepared to install a better torque converter and an upgrade kit for better line pressures.
Yes, stay with the 12cm2 until the egts get to high, whichs brings up guages, they should be your first addon.
The injection pump only puts in as much fuel as your right foot tells it to, so the fuel mileage will only go up or down depending on your driving habits, not what you do to the truck. It can acually get better with more fueling as you get to the predetermined spped quicker (55mph:rolleyes #ad
.
I would suggest deciding what your goals are by driving some other fellow tdr members trucks before you invest any hard earned dollars, as you may buy 215 injectors to find out you want 370's.
I would suggest the 275's after reading your current post.
Again a suggestion, do the plate and the injectors at the same time, but AFTER the guages.
Good luck #ad

MDW - Thanks for the input.

Maybe I'll try to ask this question a different way.

Keeping dirveability and MPG's in mind what what is the best setup while staying around $1000-$1200? Also what other minor things should I be concerned with (1/2" fuel line, delivery valves, ect)?

The auto transmission, exhaust, air intake, and gauges will already be addressed before the engine mods.

As always thanks for all of the input. Ryan

Cooker:

I concur with everything MDW suggested
to you. As you can see by our signatures
he and I are "similarily equipped. "

Assuming you do take care of the transmission,
gauges etc. , and looking at the fact you
want to stay at about $1,000 to $1,200
I would start with a cam plate and the
the 275 injectors. I would also suggest
the governor spring kit and the AFC
spring kit in the P7100 pump.

The cam plate and the injectors will
put you around $600 depending on where
you buy them. As MDW told you once you
do this you are going to want more.

Have you had your pump "calibrated"
by a reputable shop lately? To me
that is VERY important and will make
a difference in how all of the other
mods work together.

Go back into the "12 Valve Archives"
and look for the post titled "370 injs,
gov. sprg kit, AFC sprg kit WOW!"
I entered the information on that post
and gave detailed information on power,
mileage, smoke etc.

FYI, the addition of JUST the #6 TST
cam plate (250 H. P. /635 Torque) made
my rear wheel H. P. go from 156 to 224!
I noticed NO DIFFERENCE in the mileage
unless as MDW says "you put your right
foot in it!"

Good luck to you. E-mail me or re-post
if you need more help. I am sure some
of the other members will post some
more answers to you.
