Help my passenger side front window won't go up or down from the drivers control. It also happened last week but started working again. Anybody have this problem. How doI fix it myself? Jim

My passenger side window won't work at intermitent times from the passenger side. My control on the drivers side always works. I have had it looked at by my mechanic and he can't find anything wrong, always works when it's in the shop.

I suspect the passenger side switch is the culprit.

I have a jeep cherokee with the same problem, plus my 03 ram does it occasionally. It appears with the jeep the problem is the window lock switch. I came across this wiring work around for the jeep. I'm thinking the ram has the same switch/problem.

If you can remove the switch and then try to blow it out with compressed air, or use electrical contact cleaner (make sure that it won't damage the plastic first), many times it is just dirt build up inside the rocker switch housing. I ahve not had problems yet on my 2005, but long ago the switches on my volvo would go out intermittently and a simple cleaning would work great.

On my '03 all the passenger windows fail to open/close via door switches but work with driver controls. That seems to me an indication the lock switch is at fault. If just one window fails to open with door switch I'd look at that switch. On mine a gentle thump on the lock switch "fixes" mine temporarily.
