Power window on the passenger side quit.

Drivers side works fine.

Checked the fuse... . looks like a auto reset breaker of somekind.

Reomoved passenger door panel and have power at passenger door switch. 12. 94 volts.

I operate the window switch from ether door ( driver or passenger) nothing at all.

Before I start tearing into it further I thought I would ask for some trouble shooting help or a link to a search feature or archives. I can feel a large watchspring on the window mechanizum with my hand and can't budge it.

I nervous about getting hurt by doing something stupid.

I'm just feeling around with my hands back there. Was hoping it would be something simple like adjusting the limit switch for the travel or something.

I tried tapping on it while operating the switch.

I'm in colorado the weather has been drive. Everything in the door looks dry and dusty.

Any advice before I go further would be great. I just am not sure how to start and I don't want to end up with the window down or a bunch of parts in the bottom of my door.

Thanks in advance

Oh yeah, one more thing. I've had the truck since 96 and never had a problem till now with the windows.

Could possibly be the wire or the connector . I had to hard wire mine since the connector quit making contact consistantly. My door was already drilled in three spots to remove the bolts that hold the motor in. Made it lots easier.

Thanks for the replys.

I checked voltage at the connector and it worked good. It's almost like I can feel it click and want to goe but my hearing is going away too and it was very faint.

I started to remove some bolts and be carefull. The window started to come down and I caught it about 1/4 way. Every thing shifted and I was working by myself. I figured better to be stuck in the up position and after much wiggling and verbal abuse I managed to get it back together.

I was thinking of cutting a block of wood to put inside the door panel and hold the glass up.

Is this just one big fight and struggle. When will that spring start slapping the poop out of me?

Can you take the motor off without removing the whole window?

Thanks

I'm surprised there isn't a picture type thread going threw all the steps.

This little bugger is kicking my hind end.

it was an easy fix for me, on my 94 my switches both stopped rolling the window up at different times, first the drivers side, but eventually you couldn't roll it up from either, one night my roommate decided to roll it down against my better (yelling) judgment, so I finally just hotwired it back up. Its pretty easy, one wire with 12v and the other to ground, insert them into the connector one way, it goes up, the other it goes down. at least this tells you if its the motor or not, if its just a switch then 18 bucks at a parts store will do it, unless you have to get the drivers side double switch, those run more like 30 and are dealer only. hope this helps you, or someone at least.

I was just going to say this, I've rolled windows up/down on spare doors/cabs like this before. Just watch where your hands are, those firstgen windows are fast, and could hurt someone if a hand was in the way.
