I was forced into doing some interior stuff a couple of nights ago to get ready for a trip while it was drizzling outside. My power lock and window switches are a little fuzzy now. If I wanted to get in there with some contact cleaner and dieletric grease how would I go about it? The swithces mount to the housing and have a blue or red box that the wires run in. I'm kinda shy about popping those boxes off. Also, the passengers side has a clip on both ends that anchors it in the door panel, but the driver side only has a clip on the front and the rear is kinda sliding around in the panel. Did I drop it's rear clip down into the panel? I don't see any place for a clip on the rear of that one. Thanks.

Ah yes, the old power window/lock switch issue. Unfortunately, they do fail and the water must have put them over the edge.

Both bezels have a clip on the front and back and the switches are clipped to the bezels. Be very careful with the wire harnes clips, they break easily.

To get the bezels out easily, remove the handle "cup" you grab to close the door (2 phillips screws). Push the rear clip forward (into the hole for the switches) and pivot the rear of the bezel up then slide rearward to disengage the front.

CAREFULLY unclip the wires and remove the switches. Undo the clips holding them together and have at it. Good luck.

They usually all fail at about the same time and then you have fun like the driver's side window switch not allowing the passenger window to go up (or down) from either side. It can be a challenging game of diagnostics. Mark the ones you take out and keep track, it might take a few tries to get the right one. Oh, did I mention that it is usually intermittent too?

A Dodge mechanic told me the secret, and that is to slide a small flat blade screwdriver dead center in the front of the switch. There is a small clip there and it will compress and the switch will lift out easily... ..... Sarge:p
