For about a year the driver's side p/w switch for the passenger window has been very erratic. I've had to reach over to use the passenger side p/w switch to raise that window. Now the switch on the passenger side has also become screwy. i have to work it back and forth to motivate it. I know the dealer will try to tell me I need a whole new door or something ridiculous like that. If you guys can arm me with a little knowledge before I seek service it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Switch

My guess is it is the switch on the passengers side. Do you have a service manual?? It shows the electrical path. The power door lock switch is the same as the window switch. An easy test is to swap the lock switch for the window switch and see if that fixes the problem.

In my '95 they just pop up. Also make sure the connections on the back of the switches are pushed on firmly and click into the "locked" position.

My wife likes to slam the passenger side door in my truck. I just can't seem to get her to stop flinging the door when she gets out. When the window switch quite working I took the door panel off and found that the connection had come loose. I pushed them together and have not had any problems since. Hope this helps you. Regards, Lynn

switchs

In the arm rest there is a black plastic piece with two screws holding it in. Take it out and you can get to the switch mounting. As I remember, it just clips in the door panel.
