The passenger side window on my '97 Xcab started warning me a couple of years ago, started having to fiddle with the switch on that door, then just wanted to go down, etc etc. Changed the motor out, the old one wouldn't run up or down when I applied 12v to either terminal and grounded the other. the replacement ran both ways, but when I connected the harness, it wouldn't. I could read 12v at the harness connector, but was afraid to check for ground continuity at the other wire--- figured it might fry my multimeter. Switches apparently switch 12v and ground alternately to reverse direction. I haven't pulled the door panel off the driver side yet. It seems improbable that both switches are failing to switch ground. Has anyone had something like this? I ran the window back full up and left the harness disconnected so no one might randomly get the window to come down.
