My drivers side window, just on the way down, from fully closed to about 1/3 of the way down is real slow. While it is binding, it sounds like a spring is sticking (boing boing boing). Then it gradully frees up, and is fine the rest of the way down. It gets worse when it's cold outside.

Before I take the door panel off, anybody have this happen??

The window raising/lowering mechanisms in car doors do need to be lubed from time to time. Shoot a lot of pure Silicone spray, (the kind with NO petroleum products) in the fuzzy window channels, and take an acid brush (or a toothbrush or any small brush) and dab some grease into the metal channels that the lift rollers ride in. Also grease the gears if you can reach them. You will have to remove the door panel to do this, but the payoff will be a longer lasting, faster, and better working mechanism. Also tighten up all the bolts/nuts which secure the motor/lift arm mechanism to the door (if you have them on your truck).

As far as the boing boing boing, check to make sure any mirror cables aren't getting caught in the lift mechanism. (If your truck has them. ) All mirror cables should be cable-tied out of the way of the lift mech and sometimes the ties break.
