I've never heard of anyone having this problem, so I thought I'd give a heads up. I'm just shy of 150k and all the sudden the power windows stopped working yesterday. I checked the fuses and they were fine. Then I wiggled the key and the stereo went off for a second, but the windows still wouldn't work. The electrical portion of the ignition switch was less than $30 at NAPA and was not bad to change out, less than an hour.

I do have a question. I can remove the ignition key in just about any position, including "Run". Is my lock cylinder worn out too? I don't recall being able to do this when the truck was new. Also, can I rekey the new ignition tumblers to the old key? I don't want have to go through the hassle of resetting the Sentry keys and having an extra key.

sound like you should replace your key lock cylinder. I'm trying to find directions on the prcedures as well but you can get a few more questions answered with a forum search for "ignition swith". Hope this helps. If you've already completed the job I'd be interested in your experiences. Thanks

You should be able to take it to a dealer to have the ignition switch cylinder match your keys (you mite be able to take it to a local locksmith and have it done).

Usually your keys wear out before the cylinder will.
