2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission powerlocks - domelights

The power locks and dome lights keep cycling on and off with the truck on or off,the key in the ignition or out. I have the key-less entry and it make no difference if I dis activate it or not ,you can hear a clicking when the system cycles,possibly a relay. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know the fix,truck is still under warranty,but I like to keep it as far away from the dealer as possible. Thanks,Gregg

Had this problem myself a few months back. Started during a driving rain while going thru Texas. Dome lights came on, door locks started cycling, if the radio had come on I'd jumped out ( movie-Christine). After a couple of days seemed to go back to normal. I belive water got into the drivers door area & shorted out a relay. At least thats what a dealer in Texas told me had happened. Truck is now called "Christine".

Derek did they replace the relay? My truck is always garaged and there are no water leaks that I know of. I did pull the #13 fuse on the fuse panel buy the drivers side door and the problem stopped ,however when I started the truck as soon as I touch the accelerator pedal the truck died,I did this several times and thought maybe lift pump problems,but as soon as I put the fuse back in the and started the truck, it was fine. For two days everything was normal,then last night the lights and locks were cycling on and off again.

Check out the TSB's... . there's a fix for the dealer to do in there... . it's either the CTM or, as in my case, the actual switches in the door wern't manufactured correctly and have play in them... ... . dealer changed my door switches out and not been a problem since.

Yes the work order states faulty relay but doesn't state which one. I will try to follow up a little and post what I find.

Derek, My truck is going to the dealer on Wednesday for steering related issues,I will tell them to take a look at the relay. Do you know the part # of the relay? Thanks,Gregg
