has anyone else had this problem?

ever since i had the power max comp installed, when the truck first starts up, the PMX would flash on and off... even never come back on somtimes. i have unhooked the connections and checked them and they were fine. my check engine light came on two weeks ago and i had a bad map sensor!replaced it and two weeks later, check engine light is back on and truck is acting funny. it's giong into the dealer monday to go on the scanner. could my pmx be burning out my map sensors?thanks... james

James, depending on what codes you are receiving, my best guess is that you may have a poor connection within the MAP plug. Try taking it apart and put some dielectric grease on each of the 3 posts within the TST MAP connection and the OEM plug. I had a problem in the past with a P1693 and P0237 codes, the grease pretty much solved it for me. Every once in awhile I still get a P1693 code, never any driveability issues, guessing that they do occur on occasion with the fueling boxes.

As to the box going off and on, do you mean the remote ??? Mine displays "8. " whenever I deactivate the exhaust brake, then the remote will read 0 for a second, then it usually goes back to it's original setting.

Hope this helps. I seriously doubt the box is causing the MAP to fail, more like it's pronouncing a simple poor connection, or perhaps a flaw within the TST box itself. Try the dielectric grease for the MAP and report back.

When i installed my pmax comp, i cut off all of the plastic shields on the stake on electrical conectors supplied on the harness, i then soldered them and placed heat shrink tube over them. I also draw my power from a custom power distrubution center that i power using a relay and power source straight from the battery. I have never had any problems with the pmax. I think big saint is correct, start checking connections. Did you check the voltage accross the different pins like they ask in the directions??
