... what are your thoughts on this unit? Did your mileage seem to go up at all with this box compared to before( all things being somewhat equal) ! TIA, Mark

thoughts... . awesome power, in-cab adjustability, built-in safetys(with gauges) mileage... ... probably would have gone up a little but, with that kind of power i havent been able to ease up off the go pedal long enough to see any gains :D

IMHO, i love my PMCR.

i can't imagine being without it. it is a quick and effective way to increase power and yes, mileage, in about 2 hours. i received codes early on, because i was lugging the engine when starting out. i have adjusted my driving style and everything is fine.

yes, i hurt my factory turbo along the way, but that was MY fault, not the box. i run on 2/2 every day. no smoke, plenty of power and averaging around 20. 2 normally. i am down just a few tenths for winter.

FYI, don't expect to go to 9,9 and hammer it without consequence on stock parts. i knew this going in and accept it as such.

there are others that will have their opinions, but for me, it is the best bang for the buck. the new turbo is a real kick also. :D

Well your 3 options for a duration box (not a downloader) are:

1) VA3. 2 - no timing, and gets hot quick without it,imo

2) Juice - 100hp?? Whoop-tee-do, not enough

3) TST powermax- yeah!!! just right! --- I wouldN'T trade it for anything

(EDIT on the "would", darn sloppy fingers)

I run mine on 3x3 most of the time, and it gives me usually 2-3mpg boost, if I drive normally. After a year with it, I tried driving with it off, and can't go longer than it takes to warm up, before I am back on the power. It's like crack. You can't go back.

Tomeygun, dont you mean you WOULDN'T trade it for anything?

I too would not give up my TST

I drive daily set on 4-2 or 4-3 and like it so much I have not take my truck in for some little warranty items before the 36000 mile expiration cause I dont want to take box off before going to dealer and have to drive stock S. O. truck.

The last time I went to dealer It was terrible I kept trying to get the holeshot at stoplights like I normally can & do but heck I couldnt get out of my own way! Those 5 miles to and from Dealer seemed to be the lonnngggest drive of my life.

Just say NO to stock Diesels :D

That's what I was wondering also!

Roger that !! Sorta like when I take my EZ box off for visits, man what a dog !!! So, you guys all seem to think I should trade up for the TST PowerMax then, huh? Let's hear some more!!! :D

I ran my pmcr at 4/4 every day with stock turbo. The stock torque converter would slip under 1800 rpm. I now run 7/7 every day and 8/7 drag racing. this is 450 hp and 485 hp.

This is what I like about the pmcr. You can make as much power as you can stand and with out raising your rail pressure.

I forgot to add the pmcr will increase your fuel economy. So will a turbo.

I can get 21. 5 mpg if I stay undr 70 mph.

Love mine too. One thing- some of these guys aren't telling you the truth about the fuel economy. It will increase on level 1/1 timing only. The more fuel you add, the more you use but the overhead doesn't know how much you are using. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you won't get as good of mileage on 3/3 as you will at 1/1.

Tomeygun, are you still running a stock turbo with those HP #s??

I don't know if level 1/1 gives the best fuel economy. I've never run less than 3/3. I know increasing it to 7/7 does not hurt. My overhead was a few mpg off before mods. It is now close to hand calculated most of the time.

I have noticed that no matter what setting I run with my TST, my overhead display is closer now than ever was before to hand calc. Now when I had the EDGE box the overhead was way off.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THE TST-PMCR REQUIRES SELF CONTROL OR ELSE!

when I first got mine I was running hard on higher settings and within 60 days my rear duellies were bald so after 1300. 00 for new tires I now have self control... :-laf

Yep, I keep telling him it's gunna blow!!! :-laf

As for the TST... ... . Do or do not, there is no try :D I've tried two others including the the Xilaraider (sp?) everyone is raving about and I keep going back. It is the box for big numbers and milage improovments.

Yep... wastegated to 29-30 lbs... but will hit 38 or so for a second and then come back down - needless to say I CAN'T make 450 hp on the road, it gets to 1500* in like 2 seconds... . But on the DYNO of course, I have enough time to at least hit the hp number before I freak out at the egt :)

PS - the sledpuller 66 OR JR's Lil'55 is what will be on my truck next :D

I run mine on 6-7 most of the time I have had it a little over a year no problems so far. You got to love the power, also picked up about 2 miles to the gallon. I still have the old program in it. Oo.

I desregarded the overhead, but it has been really close to hand calculating. My numbers are what I see on the calculator after refueling. The TST really does boost economy a little when used moderately. I see more of a gain at 3 than at 1 or two, tested over a few tankfuls of fuel. You get one, you'll never go back. I have had it for almost a year now, replaced the clutch to hold the power, and still run the stock turbo. I hit 38-40 for a second then settle down to 36psi steady. Turbo bearings still tight. I don't bark it though. I used the elbow supplied with the TST box. DO NOT use the EZ elbow. Unless you want a new turbo. Lots of blown turbos with that combo.
