I was planning on mixing PowerService (White) Diesel Fuel Supplement+Cetane Boost with lucas in a few premixed bottles. I poured 12oz PS into a plastic measuring cup and then into glass blottle. I spilled a little so I grabed a rag and wiped it up. To my supprise the plastic measuring cup was actually being eaten by the PS. It was turning really gooie.

I am confused it comes in a plastic bottle thats not melting. Why did my girlfriends measuring cup turn all gooey? (can't stick it back in the cabinet before she notices what I do with it either).

My question is whats this stuff doing to and rubber seals or gaskets it comes in contact with? Is it really safe to use in the long run?

I bought a 96oz. container of Power Service and used a depleted bottle of Redline to dispense it. After dispensing 3/4 of the P. S. the redline bottle experienced meltdown. I don't know what's in P. S. but it's obviously not compatable with whatever plastic Redline uses. Kinda makes me wonder what's in P. S?

I don't know what to tell you buthave been using PS for a number of years no problem. Because of the position of my TransferFlow in bed tank I use a plastic funnel and have ne er had a problem with it melting down.

I also use the PS in the white bottle. I don't carry a funnel so I will cut the bottom off a soda bottle, and I have not had a melting problem.

I'll bet your GFs measuring cup is made with a styrene based plastic. Same stuff model cars are made of. Plexi and Lexan are also unstable in contact with solvents. Polypro, UHMW, & Polyethylene holds up better.

Any solvent will turn it to mush. Hope she wasn't too attached to it.

ive run power service in my truck since i got it and we run it in my moms dodge and never had any problems.

on the plastic thing i read on here a while back that a guy w/ linex spilled some ps and it did the same thing, made it all gooie does make ya wonder whats in it
