Yanmar diesel performance?

Ford Prob

Hey people, have you seen the new Ford Powerstroke TV ad? It shows this black dually with a gooseneck trailer towing something big, but what heck is it towing, a shadow?

Might be worried about the load not being big enough, cause we will out tow whatever they have on that trailer.

It is just a commercial... brought to us by the same people who thought the original Ford Pinto was a REALLY GOOD idea.

The people who make commercials know a basic truth about the American public... most people will believe anything... Bill Clinton got elected twice didn't he?

This was brought up once before and I went back to try and find the post but couldn't, anyways, I saw the commercial the other day and I know what he is hauling..... His very own Ford service department to fix his 6. 0 when it dies..... Just like American Express, don't leave home without it.

I doubt it could haul all that it would need. Let's start off with a qualified diesel tech, an engine hoist, an oil recycling plant, fresh oil, a parts department and a machine shop. That's probably just the beginning of what it would have to haul around to keep itself on the road. :D

The add I liked was the one where the guy is building a Fence with wood post and a big Maul. I ragged my cousins so hard. Does Ford think their customers dont have a clue as to building fences? What is Ford saying when they got some guy out there doing something so utterly stupid?

Not nearly as nauseating as the *TUNDRA* commercial with what sounds like Sam Elliot's voice spewing forth some spooge about being tough enough to handle a *TUNDRA*.

It's very in vogue now to put down the big three in favor of Japanese vehicles. There was a time but things have changed. The Tundra has very limited capabilities and wouldn't hold up to the jobs we dish out to our Dodges, Fords and GMs. I rode in a friend's Tundra. From the paper thin doors to the cheap plastic everything and that little skinny wading bird's leg of a rear axle, I was totally un-impressed. He said himself that he's grown tired of it, it has as much trouble as his previous Ford, and he's ready for another F-250 with a 5. 4L V8. Save the Tundra for the Mr. Rogers types. And don't be my neighbor.

The one that annoys me is where they're at the dragstrip with GN horse trailers and the Frod beats the GM off the line pulling the horse trailer. Any idiot screaming off the line from a dead stop with horses deserves to have his teeth kicked in.

Drive jerky with horses and you won't have anything but a big sweaty nervous wreck to ride when you get to the other end. IMO, the GM wins due to having any common sense at all. The real test is who can hold the speed on a long grade. I prove the answer to that question all the time. :D

All the ford needs to keep it running...

is a new Cummins in a crate on that trailer. I am guessing it can tow 1000# plus the little trailer. :D I prefer to buy my trucks with the Cummins already installed where it should be instead of hauling it around on a trailer!:p
