Turbos

I work in the parts department at a chevy dealership and I saw something yesterday I REALLY enjoyed. soo... .

I walk out the back of the shop yesterday minding my own business, I hop in my parts truck and go to drive away, wait a second! what's this? Here's the service manager with a large rope hooking the hitch of a BRAND new 2002 dmax that's going to be a service truck up to the hitch on a 99 PSD owned by a mechanic. I hate to say it, but after that I would buy a PSD a million years before I'd own a dmax. The PSD pulled the dmax straight across the parking lot, didn't even sound loaded up.

For all of you disbelievers (sp?) out there I would happily get a vin # for you

My wife says they should of tied a Dodge turbo to both of them and dragged them both across the lot backwards. I had a a Brick layer's new ford drag my 1967 International backwards all the way around a house in 1979 after I killed the motor. Also tied bumper to bumper to a 1978 one ton chevy 4x4 the same summer and we just dug straight down in the dirt and never moved each other. Drug a boys father's 4x4 1/2 ton chevy across a tavern parking lot , across the state road and another parking lot same year. when I stopped the transmision fluid was so hot it was boiling out the dipstick tube and smoking off the chevies manifold. :D

Now Mac, this IS a Dodge/Cummins group, so naturally the guys are gonna brag when they do well against a competing brand... ;)

YOUR guys over in GM would certainly do the same thing when situations are reversed - or WILL, if it ever happens... :p :D :D

I had to have my son-in-law in his Chevy Suburban tow my Dodge home last week. Not because of the engine though, trans blew out, which gave me the excuse to get a full ATS transmission to replace the stock trans with the old Dunrite milled TC and Trans-Go VB. Still was as embarrassing as ****.

Chipstien,

MAC

Hey MAC - We *ALL* "paid to be here" - so yer NOT unique in THAT regard!:p ;) :D

And SOME of us would spend some time over in the GM group, if they weren't overly sensitive at questions and comments that cause minor ripples in their blissful tranquility... Not much value in a "free" site that eliminates users by censorship and outright bans...

But YOU are most welcome here - gives us someone to pick on besides each other!;) :D

so who do you pick

when you drive alot, as we do in our business, sometimes all you have to do is think about different things to keep your mind occupied. the one conclusion that i have reached, is that whoever decided to put the reliable isb into a pickup that lacked any kind of design, ride and price advantage vs the big two, was a genius. it's still the only true advantage, that those of us that drive dodges have, and always will be. the ford and chevy owners will always be comparing their diesels to the cummins. until the competition realizes that they cant put a schoolbus motor into a pickup, and have the same longevity, with less problems, and , this the primo thing, less time between overhauls, they will always be on a catch up mode to ... :--) dodge. by the way we love our ford, gmc and chevy trucks. but to me personally, it's like the younger brother showing off ... . the older brother acknowledges his efforts, but in his heart, he knows that he can kick little bros a... ;)
