Okay, a buddy of mine has an early 3rd gen CTD and we were messing around with it looking for the PTO sense circuit to screw around with the "high idle" deal (which btw, we aren't real sure was ever figured out, but that's another thread).

Everything that I have read on here has said that the PCM was located in the right rear of the engine compartment. I would guess on the firewall. I found a FSM for the '03 Ram online and was looking at it and sure enough it says it is located on the firewall in the right rear. We start poking around looking for it and it isn't there. So who out there knows of an alternate location for the early 3rd gen PCM's?

The door sticker is marked 8/2002 and the engine was 7/2002 if I remember right. Don't know if that info helps or not.

Now we are completely sidetracked from the PTO deal and onto the finding the PCM deal!

It's an '03 that was built in August of '02.

According to the FSM it should be on the right rear firewall. Like I said, it isn't there and we can't figure out another logical location for it. We would like to at least know a general location for it before we start tearing things out trying to find it! LOL!

I wasn't aware that they got rid of the PCM in the later models, good to know.

If it is a manual trans truck it does not have a PCM. On the autos, the PCM was only there to handle the transmission functions.

Page 8e-7 of the 04 FSM tells you where the PCM is located. BUT... It's not there on mine. So I am guessing it's part of the ECM now? I dunno.
