I'm tire of getting stuck with my open differential. I was looking for a limited slip and came across this no-slip set up by PowerTrax. Any reviews on this product or suggestions for another. Pablo

powertrax

I've had a powertrax in for 2 years now and no trouble at all. Be prepared for lots of clicking and clunking going around corners, but it will give you plenty of traction. Moe:)

Pablo,

I'd put a Detroit locker in there. They are more durable. ARB is nice too because you can disengage it anytime making it a open differential. I run ARB's in my land cruiser and have not had any problem in 3 years of hard core off roading. Only down side to ARB's is cost and some people complain that it has too many points of failure.

I thought I'd read somewhere that air lockers can be prone to problems in cold climates--is there any truth to that? I have zero experience with them, but I'm curious...

No-slip opinion

I've had my no-slip in for about a month or so now. It is definitely different to drive at low speeds than a non-locker, but overall it's neater-n-sliced bread. Installation is super easy, except you must remove the carrier and ring gear to pull the cross shaft. No problems at all with that, less than a two hour job usually.

At low speed tight turns, it will clank and click especially if you are accelerating very much. You just learn to drive a little different and coast thru very tight turns. Like in a parking lot situation, it is best to just idle along or accelerate easy.

No- slips for a Dana 80 are a little hard to find right now due to back order delays. I called 11 places and finally found some in stock with the best price of anybody I called:D !!
