Gordon has done it again, great product!! It keeps the heater grid from cycling after eng. temp. gets to 125*. If you shut down eng. for a short period, like going thru drive in, and restart eng. , your fuel heater grid cycles a few times, even tho the eng. is warm, this is strain on alt. and batts. Well not any more, with his Saver it will not cycle if eng. temps are 125* or more. This will also save on grid heater wear and tear. It should double or even triple grid heaters life, IMO.
Mines on the way, keep up the good work
Gordon!!!

Naturally I'd buy it for the stated purpose, but it would be nice if I could use the same circuit to kill off the heaters in an 'emergency'. So, can I use this to kill the heaters off when I try to do a 'hail Mary' start on low batteries?

I've had the situation several times this winter where the batteries where too low to run the fuel pump, heaters, and have enough left over to kit the starter. If you've ever had this problem, you get to hear a chorus of unhappy electrical devices suck the last few electrons out of your battery.

You can't blow past the wait to start, the darn grid heaters still fire up until the ECM sees 'no power' and signs off. .

I am convinced that I'd have been able to limp start the truck if I'd been able to defeat all but the fuel pump(s). I think this would have allowed the ECM to stay on line long enough to witness an ignition.

Why are your batts. getting that low? This will not help you there. Pull the fuse to the grid heater, if there is one. Better get new batts.

AAAHAAAAAA!!

Did I just read... "pull the fuse from the grid heater"??

Can you spell, switch? Can you spell... Relay? solonoid?

ok chop it up. Rip it to peices. Tear up this simple, basic, almost fullproof idea. .

Im digging through the junk box.

Actually, there already is a BIG realy there to run it now. All you need is a switch on the coil wire for the existing relay. Something like MANUAL - OFF - AUTO
