Pre intercooled truck values compared to intercooled first gen trucks. Questions

I am looking to establish a value on a 1990 W250 5 speed truck, standard cab. Two owners and the mileage on the truck is about 225,000 mi. The truck is real nice and I have personally worked on it. Has a winch and custom front bumper. I know the benefits of the later first gens having the intercooler. They think the truck is worth $7500??? I don't have a picture yet. The owner also has a either 2wd or 4wd 350 ranch truck and I am not privy to the year but I know it is a first gen also. I am looking to make a package deal on both trucks. Any help appreciated.

Those trucks are worth their weight in gold. I've been kicking my self for selling my 89 ever since I sold it. By far the best truck/ friend I ever had.

Any rust free running 4x4 diesel pickup (any brand) is worth minimum of $4000. The Cummins always commands a higher price than everything else. I don't think the price is out of line if it's a cherry truck. The gas truck has way less value, but, reaches a minimum price as well.

The Intercooler was added to reduce NOx for the EPA. You can retrofit one, but, at the boost level used back then it's not required. I run 18-24 lbs without an intercooler on the Rat Rod and, yes, intake temps can go over 300 degrees on a 120 degree day. Just keep things away from the intake...

At the end of the day condition adds value to you, but, it comes down to what they will take and if there are any other offers. Cash being put down on the hood generally helps people discount things.

If it helps I bought my 89 W250 5speed for $5900. Truck wasn't in the greatest shape but I couldn't find a 89-90 (wanted the ram on the hood) manual 4x4 cummins anywhere so I just bought it. I still don't see a whole lot of manual first gen cummins around me near Philly. Bunch of real clean automatics though that sit on craigslist forever at 10k. I wish I would have gotten a truck that was in a little better shape and not rigged like mine but I'd still be waiting. Good luck!

That's a fair price for a truck in good condition. I paid $7,000 for my '91.5 4 years ago, drove 2400 miles round trip to get it, and have put almost $15,000 more into it. There's plenty on eBay that have sold the past couple years for $12-20k.

1st gens seem to be bringing a premium, especially in good condition.
There were several rolling wrecks here in the last few months, and all were $6K +.

It's all depends upon whom you talk to , these so called know it all kids on Facebook " coal rolling " idots think there worth nothing I have my Cummins powerd suburban and I've been told 2500 I said that buy the transmission just because the paint isn't a 100% so its all depends on whom it is
