I have one of JoeP's MBC XZ controllers ready to go onto the truck. Rather than make several smokey runs to get it set to about 35 psi, would it be feasible to use an air compressor to get it "roughly" set?

I'm thinking of setting the (probably not very accurate) pressure regulator on my air compressor to about 30 psi, then feeding compressed air into the MBC, adjusting the MBC to the point where it first starts letting air through. My intent is to minimize the number of actual runs I have to make in the truck.

Does this sound reasonable?

Yes, Using compressor and gauge works great.

Thanks, Bob.

I just did it - setting the compressor's regulator to what it claims is 32 psi (according to its gauge), then adjusting the MBC until it barely let air through. Now I'll throw it on the truck, and see where my boost gauge maxes out.

Well, it maxes out at 32 psi, even after giving the MBC another 1/2 turn. Perhaps I'm a bit starved for air... (stock airbox and filter)

thats an understatement :-laf

With all of this new fuel, I'd already guessed that I needed a lot more air.

But, my money would probably be better first spent on a clutch.

As it is now, though, I am very impressed with just the Smarty and Mach 4s. At least I can smoke (in more ways than one) the wife's PSD Excursion.
