I picked up a Diablo Predator and downloaded the performance and then extreme download. I notice it the torque converter doesn't stay locked up when floored. I figured, but wow it really moves. I'm guessing full billet transmission is next.

Nice Ram!
Did the TC stay locked in stock fuel? I was under the impression that it is unlocked when floored to save the trans, till OD... I'm not sure, really! ;)
I run mine with my Smarty at 90HP all the time.

Costs $$$ to play rough! :O But it's fun. :)

I just remember it accelerating and shifting through each gear. I just didn't think it would drop unlock the converter once it locked. I would think that would keep it from getting so hot until it obviously shredded the converter. I know slippage builds heat and I know all that extra power is not held by the stock transmission. I really baby it, I just wanted to see what the power felt like. The predator makes huge power, especially for the $75 I spent on it. I am going to turn it down and still baby it till I get built. I also have a 1981 crew cab Cummins conversion and a 2000 dully with a blue chip that makes 320 hp and 730 torque. Both are a lot of fun and the dully pulls 13k @ less than 700 degrees egt. I love these trucks!

I sure wish I could build a Lavon Miller fun truck! I will at some point; I have the disease!!!

Cruising on level ground don't count. What is the temp after a full power run up a 6% grade?

Nick

The only hills were in southern Missouri, pretty flat from St. Louis through Illinois to Wisconsin. I was pulling a 20 foot deck over with a 1981 Cummins converted four door truck. Thinking total weight was around 13k. It would barely hit 800 degrees under hard acceleration and then fall below 700 cruising. This was my 2000 dully doing the pulling.

What year is your truck? I have a 04.5 just not as purdy as yours,... mine in his work jeans! ;)

I'm trying promisedlandorganicfarmer. There isn't much done to the 03, just straight through 3.5" exhaust, CAI, predator and gauges. promisedlandorganicfarmer you got a nice truck there and some nice mods. I am thinking a larger turbo would be nice, but I think the transmission would need work first. It's in perfect condition, but won't be for long if beat on.

it looks perfect for sure! extra clean stock look is soooo nice!
I wish mine were cleaner when i got it.... [bought last april]
Wyoming truck, very little rust but with out flaps/fenders the rockers are sand blasted! Sand in every cross member.....

My best/favorite mods are= Taterturbo= whistle! & more air-flow [int AND exh]/ 4th gen seats=comfy!/ Smarty Touch=gauges and handy/ Georend low stall TC= pulls a lot stronger/
Custom tuning prob next... ;)

A shift kit and better TC is a big step in a 'good' direction. I prob would go with the Superior brand shift kit if i do it again.

When I saw this 03 with no rust and so clean looking I just couldn't resist. The truck does really well for fuel mileage. If I am cruising at 70 it's over 23 mpg. The truck has 300k on it, but no leaks or maladies I can find. It is broken in for sure and I have heard the 03 and 04 are the most efficient.

I know right, but I really think take care of maintenance, highway miles; break that engine in and give me some over the road mpg. It just runs so good!!! The predator kicks butt on this 03; really solid...

Now get ready to replace the PRV and possibly injectors soon if you aren't careful. The 03 injectors don't like pressure boxes and the Predator is one of the worst for spiking them on the performance tunes.

I have heard of talk of issues involving pressure, but that the puck really raises the pressure. If I need injectors I will put them in. The truck really responded great to the predator and just keeps running better as the ECM becomes familiar with it. I notice fuel mileage must have increased as I am putting even more miles on the truck before my next fill up. I definitely want to get a lift pump and rail pressure gauge.
