I used to have a 99' 24 valve with an edge comp and I was just curious what box/downloader can really make the most power?? I know guys are using the smarty, but theres also edge's products, Blue Chips' box, and countless others.

Which ones work the best and which ones produce the most power on a 24 valve engine.

Also how much power can be made by swapping out the VP-44 for a Hot Rodded VP-44??

Any reliability gains by using a HRVP-44???

I have run an edge EZ, TST powermax3, COMP, and now DRAG COMP. of all those the drag comp is the best hands down. i havent tried the TST COMP but i like the timing and adjustability of the drag comp. it runs really hard and doesnt cause as much heat (timing) as the TST. i love my drag comp and will not be changing it

I think that the Blue Chip Redline box or the TST powermax3 comp are the hottest boxes out there..... I dont like to run extra timing on my truck, it doesnt sound right.

I love my Drag Comp, but I think the Blue Chips Redline Comp gives more power to the wheels. It costs over $1200 new... ... you can buy a Drag Comp & some injectors for that or a Drag Comp & Smarty.

Yup, my buddy has one in his pulling truck... they are very nice and do many more things than a comp will do, other than timing. They arent cheap though thats for sure.....

The redline IS the the baddest boy on the block in my opinion, but you pay for it. Is nice though if you dont have guages (boost and pyro) and it has the low fuel press alarm also.

Smarty/TST.

Smarty takes care of low end power, TST covers the mid and upper ranges. My friend found on his 6spd truck with HRVP44, big turbo, big sticks that the Smarty/TST stack was quite a bit better than the Smarty/Edge Comp stack.

Godspeed,
Trent

love my juice with add but i have to get a rad box or smarty to get my truck to spool off the line. "torqe managment" i do not like it but love my truck

I cant answer which makes the most power. I will say that the Blue Chip FMS and Smarty stack in MY 24V works EXTREMELY well. The adjustability and compatability make this pair a pure joy to drive. The Smarty made it drive just like they claim, smooth fast response, Quicker spoolup, a few mpg's and TIMING. Then when you want it the FMS is a button away . The VP question, I run Scheids Lightning and it was an instant gain in power and MPG's. I did not dyno the truck before and after (wish I had) because the gain was worth the power my FMS@30 was adding to the truck. I did not take off a weak or failed VP either, My pump was working great, so the increase wasnt due to me living with diminished fueling, It was a real gain.
