Hello:

My 1993 Dodge 1 Ton 2 Wheel Drive 5 speed has developed a problem. First thing the charge system quick working, then my pre=heat and tach quit working. If I plug it in it starts just fine!

I changed the crank position sensor & put external voltage regulator on the altenator, but nothing works yet. What do you suggest I do?

Did you have the alternator tested to verify it works? I would start there.

How is your tach wired and what model is it? Is it wired into the factory harness and using the CPS signal or is one that uses the alternator to generate its signal?

thank you for your respnise -

Its wired into the wiring harness & its a factory add on tach.

The altenator charges to beat hell now that I got the external voltage regilator on it.

Have you checked and cleaned the grounds, both under the hood and under the dash? They are notorious for causing these problems.

If that doesn't work it could be the computer is bad.
