Attention: TDR Forum Junkies To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.
When I was removing the the hub today, the bearing separated in half... Luckily, everything else broke loose at the same time. Is it possible to press the bearing back together, or will I be calling skf tomorrow?
We've had this happen... . we wire brush the frame of the truck and the back of the bearing so that it's clean... we than wash the bearing set and repack them with grease and then put them in an arbor press and push them back together... one of our trucks now has close to 100K miles since it was apart for u-joints and greasing the bearings... .
We use a liberal coat of anti-seize on the parts that fit together so that when we need to pull it apart again... . we won't have to pound on it...
