I want to install a fuel pressure gauge on my truck, I would like to know if the shcraeder valve on the back side of the fuel filter houseing is where I need to install the taped banjo bolt and sender. any help is appreciated.

You can put it there, but your readings will be pre-filter. A much better location is at the bottom of the fuel filter canister for post filter readings and a truer visual of what the injection pump is seeing.

I would sugest installing 2 senders one pre filter and one post with a switch. The second senders is $30. It's not much more work to install. You can tell if you filter needs changed and have 2 pressure readings to compare. At Idle with a new filter is see 14-15 psi on both.

chuck3, you should also research on isolating the senders. I used 18" greese gun hoses. If you mount an electronic pressure sender directly to the fuel filter housing the enginge vibration and shock from the injector pump will destroy the sender in a few weeks. Good Luck... ... .

Thanks DR. , I read somewhere that it would ruin the senders, the greese gun hose sounds like a good ideal. :)

Is the Westach FP gauge a 2 1/16th inch gauge? I want to do this mod but I’d like to know the size so I can determine location. Thanks.

2 1/16"

Yes, The Westach instructions says to mount the Gauge in a 2 1/16" hole. Genos will provide a free face plate for mounting it in the hole beside the stereo.
