intercooler pressure drop?

4" or 5" muffed or non-muffed

I just installed a Prime Loc on my 99 2500. So far so good. Some time ago I found a thread with pictures on this site showing two fuel pressure gauges mounted to the Prime Loc, one before and one after the filter. I've searched for over an hour and can't seem to find that thread again. Anyone know where it is?

Anyone have any thoughts on this type of installation? I'm thinking that I'd like to be able to see when I should change the fuel filter based on the fuel pressure differential.

Thanks.

Any body use pressure guages to determine when the fuel filter needs to be changed? I'd be appreciative of learning what your installation consists of.

Hi Doug,

I think it was Y-knot that has a before and after gauge set up on a Prime-Loc. I’m pretty sure he relocated his Prime-Loc to the firewall. Although I didn’t see any pics in his gallery. I added a gauge similar to this from Grainger along with a needle valve. The entire set up including fittings was less that $20. I’ll try and snap a pic tonight.

Hi Doug,

Here is a pic of my set up. Sorry about it being a little dark and the gauge being a little foggy. It was 14 degrees when I snapped the pic last night. The gauge is on the clean side (post filter) port. The other port on the PrimeLoc head is the dirty side (pre filter). I’m planning on adding anther gauge to monitor pressure drop across the filter.

T-Bone. That's exactly what I'm after. Thanks so much.

I see you're in Colorado. My wife and I will make our annual pilgrimage to Steamboat in January to ski.

Again, thanks for your response.
